Electricity for six hours using a single liter of urine as fuel

Posted by Unknown
Four African girls have created a generator that produces Electricity for six hours using a single liter of urine as fuel.

Photo: Four African girls have created a generator that produces Electricity for six hours using a single liter of urine as fuel.

Four teenage girls figured out a way to use a liter of urine as fuel for generating six hours of electricity. Fourteen-year-olds Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, and Faleke Oluwatoyin, and 15-year-old Bello Eniola displayed their invention this week at Maker Faire Africa in Lagos, Nigeria, an annual event meant to showcase ingenuity.
Here’s how the urine-powered generator works, as explained by the blog on the makerfaireafrica.com website:
• Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which separates out the hydrogen.
• The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, and then into a gas cylinder, which looks similar to the kind used for outdoor barbecue grills.
• The gas cylinder pushes the filtered hydrogen into another cylinder that contains liquid borax, in order to remove moisture from the gas. Borax is a natural mineral, commonly used in laundry detergent.
• The hydrogen is pushed into a power generator in the final step of the process.
The big drawback is that hydrogen poses an explosion risk. But the girls used one-way valves throughout the device as a safety measure.
Once the urine is processed, purified hydrogen gas is pushed into the generator. (Credit: makerfaireafrica.com)
The idea of using urine as fuel is not entirely new. The girls have come up with a practical way to put the idea into action, though. Their method for using urine to power a generator is one the average household can appreciate.
Power generators are used far more often in Africa than here, where they are relegated more to emergency use, as in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  The Maker Faire Africa blog says power outages happen multiple times a day in Lagos, so all those who can afford a backup generator have one.
But perhaps the girls’ idea can be applied beyond just power generators.
Gasoline-powered internal combustion engines can be converted relatively easily to run on hydrogen, which raises the question of whether there is potential for pee-powered cars in the future.

A fact about the establishment of BHU

Posted by Unknown
Madan Mohan Malaviya was trying to build a good university for students to study at. But there was a lack of funds for it, so he went from town to town, met many rich people and traders to collect donations. He went to the Nizam of Hyderabad (who was then apparently the richest man in the world) to request him for funds.

The Nizam was furious. "How dare you come to me  for funds? And that too for a Hindu University!" He roared with anger, took off his footwear and flung it at Malaviya.

Malaviya picked up the  footwear and left silently. He went directly to the marketplace and  began to auction the footwear. As it was the Nizam’s footwear, many people came  forward to buy it. The bids kept going up.

When the Nizam heard of this, he became uneasy. He thought it would be an  insult to him if his footwear were to be bought by someone for a pittance. So he sent one of his attendants with the instruction, "Buy that footwear no matter whatever the price may be!"

Thus, Malaviya managed to sell the Nizam’s own footwear back to him, for a huge amount. He used that money to build the Banaras Hindu University.

Human Brain Analysis - Man vs. Woman.

Posted by Unknown

Human Brain Analysis - Man vs. Woman.

1. MULTI-TASKING
Women - Multiple process
Womens brains designed to concentrate multiple task at a time.
Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook.
Men - Single Process
Mens brains designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men can not watch TV and talk over the phone at the same time. they stop the TV while Talking. They can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

2. LANGUAGE

Women can easily learn many languages. But can not find solutions to problems. Men can not easily learn languages, they can easily solve problems. That's why in average a 3 years old girl has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 yeard old boy.

3. ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Mens brains has a lot of space for handling the analytical process. They can analyze and find the solution for a process and design a map of a building easily. But If a complex map is viewed by women, they can not understand it. Women can not understand the details of a map easily, For them it is just a dump of lines on a paper.

4. CAR DRIVING.
While driving a car, mans analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fastly. If he sees an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and he drives accordingly. Where woman take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. Mans single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrates only on driving.

5. LYING
When men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily. Womans super natural brain observes facial expression 70%, body language 20% and words coming from the mouth 10%. Mens brain does not have this. Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, do not lie face to face.

6. PROBLEMS SOLVING
If a man have a lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts them in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one. You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If a woman has a lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problems being solved or not.

7. WHAT THEY WANT

Men want status, success, solutions, big process, etc... But Women want relationship, friends, family, etc...

8. UNHAPPINESS
If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on their work. If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations.

9. SPEECH
Women use indirect language in speech. But Men use direct language.

10. HANDLING EMOTION
Women talk a lot without thinking. Men act a lot without thinking
